Hear Me Now; Tragedy in Cambodia
By Sophal Leng Stagg
Sophal was nine years old when she and her family were forced to leave their home in Phnom Penh in April of 1975, joining the multitude of
Cambodians who were dragged through hell by the brutal regime of the Khmer Rouge. Millions of Cambodians died as a result of starvation, torture,
and execution. This is the story of Sophal Leng and her memories of the unimaginable pain, suffering, starvation and disease that she
miraculously endured. How does a child deal with separation from family, survive in a labor camp, withstand disease that tears at her frail body?
Sophal Leng, despite all odds, survived and is finally able to tell her story.
